Give Help

Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.

Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.

Helping at a foodbank centre

We have many roles within the foodbank, suitable for volunteers of of varying back grounds, from light – moderate admin, or if you have more experience with office package, we will find ways to utilise your skills.

If you are looking for hands on, chatting with clients on a one to one basis, we do not give advice, but we can supply a listening ear, and signpost them to relevant services that may improve their situation.

Hands on people are also need sorting and storing food donations, and making up food parcels.

Due to social distancing, we have had to reduce our number of volunteers, we currently have a team of volunteers on stand by waiting to volunteer, as a result of this we are not able to take on any other volunteers at this time, please do check back at our website as in a few weeks as it is possible our situation may change when the government changes the rules on social distancing or stay at home policy.
