BAE Systems

We are delighted that the team at BAE Sustainable Systems, based at their Scotstoun facility, has chosen to support Glasgow NW Foodbank as their local charity.

The BAE Sustainable Systems are a group of five young professionals from the Project Management and Engineering functions within the Naval Ships business unit of BAE Systems. They are raising money to help support Glasgow NW Foodbank in their efforts to end hunger within the North West of Glasgow. This is part of a wider project run in partnership with the Association for Project Management One aim is to help the Foodbank with improving the sustainability of our operations. The team will be completing a virtual challenge, whereby they aim to sustainably travel a total distance of 461 miles, the distance between the most southern, Glasgow NW and the most northern Trussell Trust Sites. In conjunction with monetary donations, the team are also hosting food and bag for life donations points to allow the food parcels the Glasgow NW Foodbank deliver to be handled in a more sustainable fashion by reducing dependency on single use plastic bags.

The APM (Association of Project Managers) Scotland Project Challenge is an annual competition for developing project management professionals. Teams from organisations and universities deliver a project to the benefit of their chosen charity. The aim of the challenge is to improve the competitors’ project management skills in a real-life environment while at the same time helping local charities and raising the profile of the project management profession.
